Customer Portals – Opt-In Status

The new Opt-In Status Report, located in the Contacts Tab in Flex, will show which of your clients have confirmed to receive email notifications about subscriptions you have added for them.

A subscription makes it easier for you to keep your client informed of new properties that appear within the designated search. Flex will automatically email your contact with updates, so you won’t have to do the searching and emailing yourself every time there is a new property available. You can set the emails to be sent ASAP, meaning as soon as they are entered in MLS, or choose which days updates will be sent.

If you are adding a subscription for your contact for the first time, they will receive an email asking to confirm they would like to be sent listings from you. Once they accept, they will automatically receive emails for this and other subscriptions.


In the Opt-In Status Report, you will be able to see which clients have confirmed or declined to opt-in, as well as those who are still pending. If your client says they have not received the email, you can resend it by going to the Pending Opt-In tab, then clicking ‘Resend Request’ to the right of the contact’s name. Many times this email will be sent to their Spam folder, so make sure they have checked there if they do not see the email in their Inbox.

Searches are different from subscriptions in that they will not be automatically sent to the client; they must be manually sent. If you want to send your contact a one-time search, you will need to start by opening the Search, selecting which properties to send (or Select All), then clicking Email in the top right corner. Choose either Interactive or Printer Friendly version.

On the next screen is the email setup. Look to the left first and select your options. Be sure to choose ‘Public’ for the Version.


Then select the contact you wish to send it to, add a personalized message if you wish, and click E-Mail at the bottom of the page. You do not need the client to opt-in to receive these, since there is no subscription.
