Please note the passing of Lou Sable, at age 83. I only had the honor of meeting with Lou a couple times, and many of our members never had the opportunity. However, all of GSBOR owes a huge debt of gratitude towards Lou.
Lou Sable joined the Greater Springfield Board of REALTORS® in 1966, as its first Executive Vice President. Lou served GSBOR for thirty-three years, retiring in 1999. He was respected wherever he went, and he particularly helped raise the stature of GSBOR within the Missouri Association of REALTORS®.
A person just needs to look through the GSBOR 75th Anniversary program to see a year-by-year listing of accomplishments. Many of them would not have happened if it were not for Lou’s innovative spirit and passion for our Association. Eighty-four years into its history, GSBOR is strong because of its members, its volunteer leaders, its staff, and the vision and guidance of Lou Sable.
Visitation is Friday, October 20, from 5:30pm to 6:30pm at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, located at 2818 E. Bennett Street in Springfield. Memorial service will be Saturday, October 21 at 9:30am, also at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, followed by interment at Resurrection Cemetery.
